Disney, a 6 month retrospect

It's so hard to believe that 6 months ago we were in the happiest place on Earth.  I absolutely LOVE the Disney theme parks.  It seems like all your troubles melt away as soon as you step on the monorail that takes you to the park.

This was Morgan's very first Disney experience, and I must say, it was an awesome one.  To see Disney through a child's eyes is even more rewarding than experiencing it for yourself.  This trip was Morgan's birthday present from her Papa and Mutti.  We spent one week in Orlando, went to 5 parks in 6 days (we did Magic Kingdom twice), and just had the time of our lives with each other as a family.  We did miss Big DB and Aunt Celia (Jeff and Cecelia), but enjoyed the trip nonetheless.

As a retrospective, I will be taking you through our Disney vacation, day by day, on the 6 month anniversary of each park's trip.  Today's retrospective starts at the airport when we surprised Morgan by picking up Papa!  Then it was off to Downtown Disney for a total princess makeover.

In the dressing room her outfit was all laid out, ready for the princess to get dressed!

Her handmaid, Fairen, started the transformation.

Julia's Birthday Party

Morgan's cousin, and best friend, Julia turned 6 years old yesterday.  Today Morgan and I traveled to Charleston to celebrate at Julia's Candyland Birthday Party!  It was amazing.  Morgan's Aunt Amy is so talented and made almost all of the decorations herself.  The girls had the best time being together and playing with the other kids.  Julia got a lot of nice gifts, including many My Little Ponies, which the girls promptly tore into once the party was over!  All in all, a wonderful day with family (even if I did spend most of the party huddled over my father-in-law's phone to get WVU game updates!)

We are ready for some football!

Football season is in full swing here in the hills of West Virginia.  What an exciting year for the Mountaineers, as we enter a new conference and have a Heisman trophy candidate!

For the first game on September 1st, Morgan's best friend Lydia came to watch the game with her family.  Lydia is 6 weeks older, but Morgan looks like she is the older one doesn't she??  We had a great day watching our 'Eers defeat Marshall for the 12th time in a row!

WVU vs. Maryland.....it was chilly and rainy.  Didn't stop our gal from eating a Zul (frozen lemonade) though!  She was so proud because she bought hers with her own money from her own wallet!

Staying dry and under covers.....and wearing Mama's sweatshirt to stay warm.

Our team won again, starting our Big 12 season with a 3-0 record.  Next week we will start Big 12 conference play, but Morgan and I will miss the game.  Instead we will be attending Morgan's cousin Julia's 6th birthday party in Charleston.

Let's GOOOOOOOOO Mountaineers!
