Webster Winter Weekend!

Morgan spent this past weekend at her Great-Grandparents' home in Webster Springs. It was such a relaxing weekend! Morgan kept her Great-Grandma June busy all weekend. They drew pictures and hung them all over the walls with stickers, cooked, did the dishes, and played a lot. And of course we ate--A LOT! Morgan had more snacks over the weekend than she normally does, but of course we don't go to Grandma June's often and Grandma likes to make sure Morgan eats :)

A purple tongue, evidence of the fifth popsicle Morgan had while we were there.

Morgan was totally enamoured with Grandpa Ralph's cane. She would kindly ask him if she could play with it (go manners!!) and then would run around with it pretending it was her pogo stick.
She loved this outfit and wanted a picture of herself in it :) She's not a camera ham or anything...

We worked on a project that Morgan had been begging me to do while we were in Webster Springs. Morgan is painting dowel rods so we could hot glue them together and make picture frames. Of course, she painted about 5 of the 32 we had to paint and then pooped out on me and I ended up having to paint most of the sticks myself.

Morgan did get to spend an afternoon outside for about an hour. She had a blast playing in the snow. She and Grandma June built a snowman and threw snowballs at each other.

Morgan also went sledding, which was an adventure because Mama forgot to pack the sled! First Daddy tried pulling her around on a trash bag...

Then they tried using the girls' old swimming pool from last summer....

Finally they pulled the drawer out of the bottom of the stand freezer and used that for a sled! It worked the best, although Morgan wiped out more than she made it all the way down the hill. But she had a blast, and that's all that matters.

She was very sad to leave on Sunday and is already looking forward to going back. I don't think we'll make it back before Easter, but hopefully we'll get back really soon.
Here is a video of Morgan's biggest wipe out and ensuing aftermath:

First Ballet Lesson

I had a little tear in my eye yesterday evening when I took Morgan in for her very first ballet lesson! If you don't know, I was a ballerina for about 12 years, and met Morgan's godmother at ballet class in North Carolina. I miss it terribly and was so excited that Morgan has shown a little interest.

The first class went MUCH better than her first soccer practice. I wasn't allowed in the studio with her, so I sat outside with all the other mommies and watched. She was definitely shy at first, but participated (even if she did so with her arms crossed like in the second picture!). At the end she was having such a good time. I am excited for her. The studio we are going to right now doesn't do big recitals, which is good for the wallet but I am a little sad we won't have costumes or anything to dress her in. But this is a trial run and we'll see how she likes it!

(Sorry the pictures are fuzzy below....my camera was fighting with me on focusing!)

SNOW!

Morgan has been dying to get outside and play in the snow that has built up over the past few weeks here. Since it was about 40 degrees today and the snow is beginning to melt (but no worries, there is more on the way!), Morgan and Daddy headed outside to do a little sledding and playing before it got to be too late.

Morgan had a great time sledding down the hill across from our house. The neighbor boy has built a small ramp on the hill that Morgan aimed for every time she went down! Patrick said she "caught air" once and it was hilarious. After sledding Morgan came back to the house to try and build a snow fort using the snow brick maker that Big DB and Aunt Celia (Cecelia) got her for Christmas. She got about 3 bricks made before they started falling apart. The snow wasn't too good for brick making apparently.

Morgan is very excited to go back to her Nannie and Big Pop's (where there is a lot more snow) to do more sledding and snow fort building!

Zul Babe

If you've followed our little girl for long, you know that she absolutely LOVES Zuls (frozen sweet lemonade) that are sold at both WVU football and basketball games. Since today was our first game of 2011 I treated her to one, which naturally she shared with her Mama! She had fun playing with Josh at the basketball game while Daddy, Mama, and Anna watched the Mountaineers pull out a 4 point victory over the Purdue Boilermakers. It should be a quiet week for our gal, and I am looking forward to some "normalcy" for a while.

Dentist Today

**UPDATE**
Morgan came through her dental visit today with flying colors. Once they started working on her the dentist thought he was going to have to put a crown on, but thankfully he didn't have to. He said she cried just a little when they gave her shots in both legs to administer the sedation, and he told me he had to answer about a thousand questions :), but a little over an hour after they started she was done. He said she was a perfect patient, and she earned herself a BIG prize. I am so thankful that she had a decent experience today. The only thing she remembers is that the dentist gave her shots! Let's hope this is our last trip to the dentist for a long time.

Just look at those adorably chubby cheeks :)

Angel of God, Morgan's Guardian Dear, to whom God's love commits her here, ever this day be at her side, to light and guard and rule and guide.

Please say a prayer for Morgan this morning. She is going into the dentist at 7:30 to be sedated and have six cavities filled. Mommy's a nervous wreck.
