Sickie

Well, it looks like might have come down with the "ick". The "ick" has been running rampant around the day care for about 3 weeks now. I thought that we had dodged a bullet. Until I get a call at work today a little after 3:00 that Morgan was throwing up all over the day care. Lovely.

Thankfully she hasn't thrown up since then (it's almost 8:00 now) although she hasn't eaten much. She DID have a popsicle and has been sipping on some apple juice. She has managed to go from fever free to now have a low-grade fever at 100.4. She looks pretty pitiful, doesn't she? She requested my "head coolers" and I hoped it would help her feel better. Hopefully she'll get some good rest tonight and be puke and fever free tomorrow so she can return to school on Wednesday.

Busy Little Girl

Morgan has been very busy the past week and a half. On Saturday the 19th she got to wish her Papa a Happy Birthday via Skype while Papa was in Florida. She read him a story and enjoyed talking to him. Then we headed to Clarksburg to the birthday party of Morgan's friend Simon. He had a pool party at the YMCA, and Morgan had a BALL! Our little fish just loves the water. I am excited to get her into swim lessons this summer. After the pool party we met Nannie and Big Pop in Clarksburg and Morgan got to go home with them for a few days. She was SOOOO excited!

While at Nannie and Big Pop's she had fun building a fort in the dining room, playing in the tent, reading lots of books, and apparently eating them out of house and home. She was supposed to stay there until Wednesday, but unfortunately her trip was cut short on Tuesday when Janet and Charlie had to come to Morgantown. It was a sad trip for them, as a very dear friend passed away in the hospital, but Morgan was excited that they were in Morgantown and she got to see them every day.

On Wednesday and Thursday Morgan enjoyed evenings at the Waterfront Place hotel with Nannie running around and charming the exhibitors at the West Virginia Society of Professional Surveyors annual conference. She came home with a new flash light and a stress ball shaped like a cargo plane.

On Friday evening we all headed back to Exchange for a funeral. Morgan got to see Julia which made her year I think! They played so well together. They got to visit with Great-Grandma June, Great-Grandpa Ralph and Great-Aunt Lola while we all went to the visitation and funeral. Then they got to run around at the after-funeral dinner and play with some of their friends from Janet and Charlie's church. Morgan was exhausted and actually fell asleep in the car on the way home (which hasn't happened for a while).

This week will be fairly quiet, although we do have 2 final basketball games to go to. In all the craziness I haven't taken any pictures of our gal for over a week! Gasp, I know! SO come back for more happenings and hopefully some pictures in the coming weeks ahead.

Princess Day at the Mall

Saturday morning our little ballerina princess got to go to the mall for Prince and Princess Party day, sponsored by the Morgantown Dance Company (where Morgan takes ballet). It was our first of many I am sure! There were 14 craft stations, each with a different theme/princess. Morgan had tea with Alice in Wonderland, made a flying carpet with Jasmine, did sand art with Ariel, decorated cookies with Snow White, made a fan with Mulan, and made a crown with Cinderella, just to name a few stations. She had a autograph book signed by all of the princesses. They were also selling food (which we didn't partake) and were putting on 10 minute shows of the upcoming ballet Sleeping Beauty. We saw Morgan's ballet instructor and aide, a friend from soccer, and lots and lots of princesses! Morgan wouldn't dress up in her princess costume, so Mama settled for her wearing her ballerina dress.

I love her hair this way! If only she'd let me do it every day...sigh.

Tea with Alice (in Wonderland)

Drinking her "tea"

By far her favorite station....the puppet theater!

She's getting pretty good at writing her name!

Pocahontas (who was really Morgan's ballet instructor, Ms. Shay)

It was a fun event, and a good time to get Morgan out of the house and let her get out some "cabin fever" energy. I am sure we'll be doing it again next year!

Recent Happenings

It's been a busy week for our gal. Superbowl Sunday we got together with our friends the Robinsons and Wigginses to watch our beloved Steelers. Well....we all know how that turned out. But we had a great time nonetheless! There was lots of food and Morgan gorged herself on Oreos and breadsticks. At one point in time she was literally running back and forth in Katie and Phill's awesome basement (Daddy's dream "man cave").

The main part of the basement......yep there are TWO large movie screens in the basement that were showing the game. AWESOME!

Decked out in her Steelers jersey....she was more interested in Beauty and the Beast than the game.

The arcade machine in the basement......Morgan is drawn to this thing every time we are there!

The very next day were watching sports once again, this time live as we watched the Mountaineers take on the Pitt Panthers at home. Morgan was a lucky little girl and got another Zul (of course) AND some candy coated pecans that they make fresh right at the bottom of the stairs where we walk up, so we cruely have to smell them all game. She enjoyed the game, as usual, and liked to yell Beat Pitt! Of course we couldn't tell her what the crowd was REALLY yelling....that's for when she gets older :)

Tuesday night she spent the evening with Aunt Becky, Uncle Rodney, Anna, and Shannon being spoiled rotten (with more Oreos!) while Patrick and I went to see Stomp!

Thankfully last night we got to stay at home for the first time all week. Morgan asked when I picked her up "Where are we going tonight Mama?" I said "Home" and she was disappointed I think. This girl loves to have a busy social calendar.

This week we'll be busy practicing writing her name on Valentine's Day cards and spending a nice weekend in Morgantown. She gets to attend a Prince and Princess party at the ballet school Saturday morning and then it's off to another basketball game. Sunday we are going as a family to see Gnomeo and Juliet as our Valentine's Family Date! It should be a good weekend. Stay tuned for more happenings!

Self Portraits

Morgan has been quite fascinated with my digital camera lately, and now that she is old enough to be careful with the camera (mostly!) I just let her run with it. She loves to take pictures of her Barbies, but she also took a few pictures of herself that I thought were "blog worthy" So here they are!

As you can see, she did a pretty darn good job with the first two. She hasn't quite learned to keep the camera steady, but she's only 4. :)
